The Three Angel's Message
 

                            This article will discuss the three angel's message found in Revelation 14.  The
               messages they bring teach us great truths.  Let's begin by clearing something up about
               Revelation.  Some people say that Revelation is sealed.  Let's look at why it is not.

 It was never sealed.   The devil's strategies and last-day plans are revealed in Revelation.
   Satan can't trap people who know the truths of Revelation.  He hopes that people will
         believe that it is sealed so they won't discover the truth.

 "Revelation" means "unveiling," or "revealing."  This is the complete opposite of
   being sealed.

 Revelation is Jesus' book.  No other book reveals Jesus' last-day instructions for His
   work like Revelation does.

 Revelation is written for people of our time.  The message of Revelation is for us.

 Revelation describes God's end-time people.  Revelation teaches us what will occur
   in the end-times.  We have to learn from it so we know what we should be preaching to
          the world.



                           How does God symbolize the work of spreading the gospel in the end times?

 Revelation 14: 6-9--"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the
  everlasting gospel to preach. ...And there followed another angel, saying... And the
         third angel followed them, saying..."


        

          The word "angel" means "messenger."  It's fitting that God
    uses angels to symbolize the work of spreading His gospel 
    message in the end days.  Angels also symbolize that the
    gospel work will be accompanied by supernatural power.

        

         
           What does Revelation 14:6 tell us about God's message?

 Revelation 14:6--"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting
  gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and
         tongue, and people."

                      The two points are that:  it is the "everlasting gospel," and it has to be preached to
           everyone on earth.  The three angel's message is what must be told to every person in the
           world.  It stresses that salvation can be had by faith in Jesus Christ alone.

                      Satan has counterfeit salvations too.  Salvation by works and salvation by sin. 
           The three angel's messages uncover these deceptions.  Keep in mind that if someone
           is not preaching the three angel's messages, then they're not really preaching the gospel 
           of Jesus.
 
          Now, let's see what the whole message is really about.  What is the first angel's message?

 Revelation 14:7--"Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour
  of his judgement is come:  and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and
         the fountains of waters."

                     The first angel's message is fourfold:

  Fear God.  We should revere God and give Him our love, trust, and respect.  This will
  keep us from evil.

  Give glory to God.  We should obey, praise, and thank God for all goodness that He 
  shows to us.  We should never be unthankful (2 Timothy 3: 1,2).

  The hour of His judgement is come.  Everyone is accountable to God.  His judgement
  is now.

  Worship the Creator.  This command rejects idolatry of all kinds, repudiating evolution,
  which denies that God is Creator.  The gospel includes teaching that God created the earth
        and everything in it.  This worship of Him also includes worshipping Him on the day he set
        aside for a memorial--the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday).



      What message does the second angel bring to us?

 Revelation 14:8--"And there followed another angel, saying,
  Babylon is fallen."

 Revelation 18: 1-4--"I saw another angel come down from 
 heaven...And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying,
        Babylon the great is fallen. ...And I heard another voice from
        heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people."




                            The angel says, "Babylon is fallen," and urges everyone to come out of her.
               Babylon is the Catholic Church and the apostate Protestant denominations.  Could
               you be in Babylon?

                            Next, what does the third angel warn against?



  Revelation 14: 9, 10--"And the third angel followed them,
  saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and
         his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his
         hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God."

                   The message warns people against worshipping
     the beast and his image and receiving the mark of the beast.

                     How does God describe those who accept and follow these three teachings?

 Revelation 14:12--"Here is the patience of the saints:  here are they that keep the
  commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

A.  They are patient and faithful to the end

B.  They are saints

C.  They keep the commandments of God

D.  They have the faith of Jesus

                      What happens after the three angel's message is given to the world?

 Revelation 14:14--"And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat
  like unto the Son of Man, having on his head a golden crown."

                      Jesus will return in the clouds just after the message is given.  Doesn't that sound
         wonderful?  Remember how important the three angel's message is, and also remember,
         if someone is preaching the gospel without the three angel's message, it is not God's true
